AIR CONDITIONING

FOR YOUR CESSNA 182T & T182T

Goodrich Aviation Maintenance Center is an authorized installation center for THERMACOOL, the new all electric air condition system from Kelly Aerospace.

FAA/STC Certified for the the Cessna 182T and T182T.

Thermacool is an all electric air conditioning system initially designed for the Cessna 172 and 182 series aircraft. The heart of the system is a trouble-free hermetically-sealed brushless DC motor/compressor that is powered by either the aircraft electrical system or a 28 volt DC ground power cart. When ground pre-cooling, the system provides a 20 degree cabin temperature drop in just 5 minutes at the touch of a button. When connected to ground power, a cowl mounted piezo-electric switch activates the system without ever opening the cabin door. Your lineman can do it for you. The system weighs only 49 pound installed. The air conditioning is controlled by the touch of a button on the panel mounted controller. You can set the temperature you desire and forget it. Cool air will flow from the several adjustable cabin vents installed in the headliner. The installation aft of the baggage compartment will not interfere with the G1000 and only moves the C.G. aft by 1/2 inch. The compressor and condenser inlet are located on the side of the fuselage avoiding exhaust fumes and carbon monoxide from entering the cabin. To operate the air conditioning an additional 95 amp alternator is installed providing a dual alternator back-up system for your G1000 avionics package. This second alternator system can be installed without installing the air conditioning system giving you the peace of mind of having two alternators for your electric aircraft.
